Plastic is cheap, easy to make, flexible and accessible, but it is out of control and is harmful to humans and the environment. Millions of tons of plastic get poured in the ocean yearly. In 2016 the World Economic Forum found that 78 million tons of plastic is produced annually. Many one use items are becoming unmanageable and we can do something about it.

Cardinal’s goal is to drastically reduce it’s waste. We have adopted a mindful approach to procurement and operations. We are minimizing unnecessary waste so our focus is to purchase tools and supplies that are not for one time use. All plastic containers containing chemicals are first reused then recycled. Equipment gets maintained regularly. Cardboard and packing materials get sorted and recycled. Here are some of the efforts we take to reduce our global footprint. A few extra steps on everyone’s part can make a difference.

What are we doing?

  • Vacuums are maintained and repaired

  • Cleaning rags are laundered

  • Mop heads & dust mops are laundered

  • Most mop poles are wooden

  • Most dusters are animal hair, feather, or cotton (ethically sourced)

  • 98% of our chemicals are concentrated

  • BOPP vinyl labels
